What is Russian Ruble / Turkish Lira (RUB/TRY)?
RUB/TRY shows the Turkish lira value of the ruble, the currency of the Russian Federation. The ruble is managed by the Central Bank of Russia (Bank of Russia). Because the ruble has a low unit value, the rate is expressed as a small figure in Turkish lira.
Because the Russian economy relies on exports of crude oil, natural gas and metals, the ruble is sensitive to energy prices. The Bank of Russia moved to a free-floating exchange rate regime at the end of 2014. International sanctions applied from 2022, capital controls and restricted access to international payment systems changed the conditions under which the ruble is priced; in this period the rate was shaped largely by export income and administrative measures.
Turkey and Russia have intensive economic relations in energy trade, tourism and construction. The RUB/TRY value on Lzzo.com is a cross reference rate calculated from market exchange rates; it may not reflect price differences that can arise between markets because of sanctions, and it is not a bank buy/sell price.
