What is Singapore Dollar / Turkish Lira (SGD/TRY)?
SGD/TRY is the cross rate expressing the value of one Singapore dollar in Turkish lira. The Singapore dollar is the currency of Singapore, one of Southeast Asia's trade and financial hubs, and is managed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), which serves as the country's central bank.
MAS conducts monetary policy through the exchange rate rather than interest rates: the Singapore dollar's value against a basket of trading partners' currencies is kept within a band whose details are not disclosed. Because this framework limits the Singapore dollar's fluctuations, most of the movement in SGD/TRY usually stems from the Turkish lira's general trend. CBRT monetary policy, inflation in Turkey and global dollar moves therefore stand out when following the rate.
A free trade agreement between Turkey and Singapore is in force; Singapore also serves as a transshipment hub in Asian trade flows. The SGD/TRY value on Lzzo.com is a cross reference rate calculated via the US dollar from market exchange rates; it is not a bank or exchange office price.
