US Dollar / Singapore Dollar

USD/SGD is the pair showing how many Singapore dollars one US dollar is worth. The Singapore dollar is managed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), which acts both as the central bank and as the financial regulator. The Singapore dollar is accepted at par with the Brunei dollar; a long-standing currency interchangeability agreement between the two countries exists for this purpose.

Singapore's monetary policy differs from that of many countries: rather than targeting a short-term interest rate, MAS manages the Singapore dollar's value against a basket of trading partners' currencies within an undisclosed policy band. The slope, width and center of the band are adjusted in periodic policy statements. As a result, the Singapore dollar follows a relatively stable path, and moves in USD/SGD often reflect the dollar's general strength.
