Product information
What is Qatari Riyal / Turkish Lira (QAR/TRY)?
QAR/TRY gives the value of Qatar's currency, the riyal, in Turkish lira. The riyal is managed by the Qatar Central Bank, and the currency is tied to the US dollar at a fixed rate. Because of this structure, QAR/TRY follows the movement of USD/TRY at a fixed ratio. The riyal's subunit is called the dirham.
Qatar's economy relies on exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG); energy income supports the country's external balance and the maintenance of the peg. Through the Qatar Investment Authority, the country makes extensive investments abroad. Turkey and Qatar have close relations in trade, defense and investment; a bilateral currency swap agreement was signed between the CBRT and the Qatar Central Bank in 2018.
The QAR/TRY value on Lzzo.com is a cross reference rate calculated via the US dollar from market exchange rates, not a bank buy/sell price. This value is for information only; buy and sell prices applied to Gulf currencies at exchange offices may differ.
