Product information
What is Kazakhstani Tenge / Turkish Lira (KZT/TRY)?
KZT/TRY shows the Turkish lira value of Kazakhstan's currency, the tenge. The tenge entered circulation in 1993 and is managed by the National Bank of Kazakhstan. Because the tenge has a low unit value, the rate is expressed as a small figure in Turkish lira. The name tenge derives from an old currency name associated in Kazakh with the meaning 'scales' or 'balance'.
Kazakhstan moved to a free-floating exchange rate regime in 2015 and adopted inflation targeting. Because the country's economy relies on exports of crude oil, natural gas and minerals, the tenge is sensitive to energy prices. Owing to close trade ties with Russia, fluctuations in the ruble can at times affect the tenge as well. As a member of the Organization of Turkic States, Kazakhstan maintains economic and cultural relations with Turkey.
The KZT/TRY rate is a combination of the tenge's path against the dollar and the Turkish lira's general trend. The KZT/TRY value on Lzzo.com is calculated via the US dollar from market exchange rates and is an informational reference, not a bank buy/sell price; it is not a substitute for an exchange office price.
