Product information
What is Azerbaijani Manat / Turkish Lira (AZN/TRY)?
AZN/TRY shows the value of Azerbaijan's currency, the manat, in Turkish lira. The manat is managed by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. The manat in use today entered circulation with a currency reform carried out in 2006.
Azerbaijan's economy relies heavily on oil and natural gas exports; part of the energy produced in the Caspian basin reaches international markets through pipelines crossing Turkey. Following sharp devaluations in 2015, the manat has been managed within a narrow range against the US dollar since 2017. As a result, AZN/TRY largely follows the movement of USD/TRY, and the main source of change in the rate is the Turkish lira's general path.
Close economic and cultural ties between the two countries, along with trade, energy and tourism flows, make the manat one of the rates watched in Turkey. Lzzo.com shows a cross reference rate for AZN/TRY calculated from market exchange rates, not a bank buy/sell price; buy and sell prices at exchange offices may differ from this value.
