What is Starknet (STRK)?
Starknet is a validity rollup (ZK-rollup) developed by StarkWare that runs on Ethereum. Transactions are executed in batches on Starknet, and STARK proofs attesting to their correctness are then submitted to Ethereum; the aim is to transact at lower cost while benefiting from the mainnet's security. Smart contracts on Starknet are written in Cairo, a language designed for provable computation, and account abstraction is built into the network.
STRK is Starknet's native token and was distributed in early 2024. The token is used to pay transaction fees, in the staking mechanism that is part of the network's decentralization process, and in governance votes on protocol changes. STRK exists on Ethereum and Starknet, and a bridged version is also available on Solana. Assets are moved between Ethereum and Starknet through the StarkGate bridge.
On Lzzo.com, the Starknet price is based on Binance data: the STRK/USDT value is converted to US dollars using Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate. The figures shown are for information only.
