Optimism

Optimism is a layer-two ecosystem based on optimistic rollup technology, developed to increase Ethereum's transaction capacity. Transactions are executed on OP Mainnet, sent to Ethereum in batches and verified through a challenge process. Transaction fees on OP Mainnet are paid in ETH, not in OP.

The project's open-source software framework, OP Stack, lets other teams build their own networks as well; the structure in which these networks are connected through shared standards is called the Superchain. Coinbase's Base network is an example of a network that uses this framework. Governance is carried out by the Optimism Collective, made up of the Token House, formed by OP holders, and the Citizens' House; retroactive funding for projects that provide public benefit is also part of this structure.

The OP token began to be distributed in May 2022 and is used primarily in governance votes. The OP price on Lzzo.com is based on converting the Binance OP/USDT pair to US dollars using Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate and is provided for information.
