What is Raydium (RAY)?
Raydium is an automated market maker (AMM) and decentralized exchange that went into operation on the Solana network in 2021. Users can deposit tokens into Raydium's liquidity pools to earn a share of trading fees, while traders execute swaps through pool pricing instead of an order book. Alongside classic constant product pools, the protocol offers concentrated liquidity pools, where liquidity is gathered within specific price ranges, and tools such as LaunchLab, which makes it easier to bring new tokens to market.
RAY is Raydium's native token, issued on Solana. The token is used for liquidity incentives and staking; the protocol states in its documentation that it allocates part of its trading fees to RAY buybacks. Because Raydium pools are integrated with trade aggregators on Solana, users can also access this liquidity through other interfaces. Owning RAY gives the holder no legal claim on the team operating the protocol.
On Lzzo.com, the US dollar value shown for RAY is derived by converting the Binance USDT pair using the USDT/USD rate on Coinbase. The data on the Raydium price screen should not be used on its own as a basis for decisions.
