Aster

Aster is a decentralized perpetual futures and spot exchange that runs mainly on BNB Chain and can also be accessed from networks such as Ethereum, Solana and Arbitrum. The platform emerged from the merger of the Astherus and APX Finance projects and is known for its backing from YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs). ASTER is the exchange's governance and ecosystem token.

Aster offers two trading experiences: a simple mode geared to opening trades with a single click and an order-book-based professional mode. The professional mode includes features such as hidden orders, which can be concealed from other users. Besides stablecoins, users can also post yield-bearing assets as collateral; the ecosystem's dollar-pegged token USDF was also designed for this purpose. ASTER holders can take part in protocol decisions; the token is also associated with fee benefits, staking and incentive programmes. The project is also developing its own privacy-focused blockchain.

For tokens of leveraged derivatives exchanges, the price is shaped by trading volume and open position size on the platform, how fee income is passed through to the token economy, unlocks, rival decentralized derivatives exchanges and regulation of derivative products.
