What is Jito (JTO)?
Jito is an ecosystem that develops liquid staking and MEV (maximal extractable value) infrastructure on the Solana network. JTO is the token issued on Solana and used in the governance of Jito DAO; it was distributed to the community at the end of 2023.
The ecosystem's two pillars feed each other. The validator client and block engine developed by Jito Labs let users have their transactions ordered in bundles by paying tips; these tips are distributed to validators and those who stake with them. JitoSOL, meanwhile, is a liquid staking token that keeps users' SOL liquid while it is staked and reflects both staking rewards and MEV income. JTO holders vote on matters such as stake pool fees, income sharing and restaking products.
JTO's trajectory may be related to transaction activity and MEV income on Solana, the amount of SOL deposited into JitoSOL, fees flowing to the DAO and the unlock schedule. The Lzzo.com Jito page takes the price from JTO/USDT trading on Binance and converts it into dollars at the Coinbase Exchange USDT/USD rate; the chart shows this dollar-denominated series.
