What is DoubleZero (2Z)?
DoubleZero is a network infrastructure designed for blockchains and other distributed systems, made up of dedicated fiber links supplied by independent contributors. It aims to make data transmission between validators faster and more predictable by separating it from congestion on the public internet; its initial focus is Solana validators. 2Z is the network token issued on Solana.
Operators with unused fiber capacity contribute links and hardware to the network. At the edges, pre-processing such as filtering out duplicate or unwanted transactions and signature verification can be carried out; with multicast support, a message can be delivered to many nodes at once. In the 2Z economy, validators pay fees for the connectivity service, while contributors receive 2Z rewards based on their performance and reliability. Token holders can stake 2Z by delegating it to resource providers.
The 2Z price may be influenced by the number of validators connecting to the network and the fees they pay, expansion to chains beyond Solana, the supply created by rewards distributed to contributors, and token unlocks. On Lzzo.com, the 2Z price is taken from the 2Z/USDT pair on Binance and converted into dollars at Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate; the chart shows this series.
