Dolphin

Dolphin is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) project that aims to pool idle GPU capacity to provide computing power for AI inference and model development. POD is the project token issued on Base, Coinbase's layer-two network; the token previously traded under the DPHN symbol and took its new name through a contract migration. CoinGecko also lists the project in the Venice ecosystem category.

According to the project description on CoinGecko, GPU owners are rewarded with POD for connecting their hardware to the network, while users of AI services pay protocol fees in POD. The correctness of the network is meant to be protected through encryption, sampling for verification purposes and cryptoeconomic bonds in which participants post collateral. Independent data on the extent to which these functions are used is limited.

The POD price may be affected by factors such as actual compute demand on the network, the supply created by rewards distributed to GPU providers, the effect of the symbol and contract change on liquidity, and interest in AI-themed tokens.
