What is Chainlink (LINK)?
Chainlink is a decentralized oracle infrastructure that brings price, reserve and event data, which blockchains cannot access on their own, to smart contracts. LINK is a token originally issued on Ethereum and can also be used on many other networks via bridges. Lending protocols, derivatives platforms and stablecoin issuers make widespread use of Chainlink data feeds.
On the network, independent node operators collect the same data from different sources; the results are aggregated and written to the chain without depending on a single operator. Alongside price feeds, services are offered such as verifiable randomness (VRF), task automation, proof of reserve and a cross-chain interoperability protocol called CCIP. LINK is used for payments to operators for these services and in the Chainlink staking program; staked LINK forms an economic security layer tied to service quality.
The LINK price may be affected by demand for oracle services, wider adoption of CCIP and institutional integrations, rival oracle solutions and general crypto market conditions. The price on the Lzzo.com page is derived from LINK/USDT trades on Binance; the USDT value is converted into dollars at Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate, and the chart follows this series.
