What is Brazilian Digital (BRZ)?
BRZ (Brazilian Digital) is a stablecoin pegged to Brazil's currency, the real (BRL), and is issued by the financial technology company Transfero. Unlike dollar-linked stablecoins, BRZ aims to let users in Brazil access international crypto platforms with their own currency and make real-denominated payments. Although it is labelled as a smart contract platform in the catalogue, BRZ is a token, not a blockchain.
Each BRZ is intended to be backed by real-denominated reserves held by the issuer; users in Brazil can buy BRZ in exchange for reais and redeem it under certain conditions. The token has been issued on many networks such as Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Algorand, Rootstock and Stellar; this multi-chain structure allows applications in different ecosystems to use a real-denominated asset.
Because the BRZ price on Lzzo.com is shown in US dollars, changes on this page largely reflect the exchange rate between the real and the dollar. Beyond that, reserve transparency, issuer risk and Brazil's crypto asset regulations are the main factors affecting the stability of BRZ. The price and chart are based on DefiLlama's US dollar reference data.
