Product information
What is Quarter Gold Turkey (CEV/TRY)?
Çeyrek altın (quarter gold coin) is the small coin of the ornamental (ziynet) gold series struck by the Turkish State Mint (Darphane). It is made of twenty-two-karat gold and is widely used in Turkey as jewelry and as a gift on special occasions such as weddings, births and religious holidays; it is also a traditional means of saving. Alongside the quarter coin, the ziynet series includes the half and full coins.
The quarter gold value shown on Lzzo.com is a gold-content model based on the pure gold content obtained by multiplying the coin's gross weight under the Mint standard by the twenty-two-karat purity ratio. This amount is converted into Turkish lira using the gold ounce reference (the PAXG token quote) and the daily exchange rate. The result is the theoretical value of the gold contained in the coin according to the international reference.
The quarter gold price at jewelers and banks differs from this model; the market price reflects minting and workmanship costs, the dealer premium and the buy/sell spread. Price differences can also arise in the market between coins with 'old' and 'new' dates. The value shown does not include these elements, is not a dealer price and is not a substitute for a buy/sell offer.
