What is Pfizer Inc. (PFE)?
Pfizer Inc. is a New York-based US biopharmaceutical company whose shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker PFE. The company is active in the research, development and manufacture of medicines and vaccines.
The portfolio includes products such as Eliquis, used to prevent blood clots and co-marketed with Bristol Myers Squibb; the Prevnar family of pneumococcal vaccines; the Vyndaqel family of drugs for the heart muscle disease ATTR-CM; and Ibrance, used in breast cancer. The Seagen acquisition, completed in 2023, brought the company targeted cancer therapies known as antibody-drug conjugates. The company also sells Comirnaty, the coronavirus vaccine it developed with BioNTech, and the antiviral Paxlovid, and it has expanded its pipeline of drug candidates in obesity through acquisitions.
