What is IC Enterra Renewable Energy (ENTRA)?
IC Enterra Yenilenebilir Enerji A.S. is a renewable energy producer belonging to the IC Ictas group. Its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker ENTRA. Because its portfolio is weighted towards hydropower, ENTRA stock is followed among energy shares sensitive to rainfall conditions.
The company's portfolio consists of hydroelectric plants together with solar and wind projects, and energy projects with storage are also among the investments under development. The Erzin solar power plant in Hatay is one example of these investments, and practices allowing livestock to graze beneath the solar panels have been introduced at the site. The electricity generated is sold on the open market and under renewable energy support mechanisms.
For hydro-weighted producers, rainfall and water inflows, market clearing prices, the remaining terms and US dollar-based prices of plants within YEKDEM (Turkey's renewable energy support mechanism), the financing of new capacity investments and exchange-rate movements affect results. The spread of the plants across different sources and regions is seen as a factor that limits output swings tied to any single source.
