What is Eversource Energy (ES)?
Eversource Energy is an energy services company with general offices in Boston and Hartford, operating in the New England region of the United States. Its roots go back to Northeast Utilities, founded in 1966, and the Eversource name has been used since 2015. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker ES and the company is among the components of the S&P 500.
Through regulated delivery utilities, Eversource supplies electricity to homes and businesses in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and distributes natural gas in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The company also owns and operates high-voltage transmission lines. A large part of its investment program goes to renewing the grid and making it more resilient.
