Ekos Teknoloji ve Elektrik A.S. is an industrial company that designs and manufactures electrical infrastructure equipment under the EKOS electric brand. Its headquarters and production facilities are located in an organized industrial zone in Balikesir. Its customers are power producers, grid operators and industrial and commercial consumers; EKOS shares trade on Borsa Istanbul among electrical equipment manufacturers.

At the core of the product range is medium-voltage switchgear for power distribution substations. It is complemented by monoblock concrete kiosks in above-ground, semi-buried and underground types, automation solutions covering protection-control and SCADA panels, and mobile transformer substations that supply temporary power during natural disasters, emergencies or on construction sites. A transformer factory commissioned in Balikesir added special-type and distribution transformers for renewable power plants to the product list. The company also distributes GE-branded products and has sites in Algeria, Portugal and Senegal.

For electrical equipment makers, the main items investors track are grid and distribution investments, additions to solar and wind capacity, prices of raw materials such as copper and steel, currency movements and overseas orders. Capacity utilization at the new factory will also be a variable to watch in the coming periods.
