Constellation Brands, Inc. is a US alcoholic beverage company headquartered in Victor, New York; its roots go back to the Canandaigua Wine Company, founded in 1945. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker STZ and are included in S&P's broad-based US stock index. A large part of the company's income comes from the US market.
Constellation's main area is its beer segment. It sells brands such as Corona, Modelo and Pacifico, which are brewed in Mexico, in the United States, where the company holds the rights to these brands. The Wine and Spirits segment includes wine brands such as Robert Mondavi, Meiomi and Kim Crawford along with some spirits; in recent years the company has removed mainstream wine brands from this segment's portfolio. Distribution in the US runs through state-based wholesalers.
