Starbucks Corporation

Starbucks Corporation is a US retail company that operates coffee and beverage-focused stores. It buys and roasts coffee beans and sells hot and cold drinks, food and packaged coffee in company-operated and licensed cafes. Its shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker SBUX.

A significant part of its income comes from company-operated stores in North America. In international markets, licensing and joint venture models are used alongside company stores; since March 2026, retail operations in China have been run by a joint venture in which Boyu Capital is the majority partner, while Starbucks retains a minority stake and the brand license. Packaged coffee and ready-to-drink beverages sold in supermarkets are distributed through partnerships; the mobile app and loyalty program are also an important sales channel.
