What is Chubb Limited (CB)?
Chubb Limited is an insurance and reinsurance company headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CB, and it is a member of the S&P 500 index. The present structure emerged when ACE Limited acquired Chubb Corporation in 2016 and adopted the Chubb name; the Chubb brand itself dates back to 1882.
Most of its activity is concentrated in property and casualty insurance. The company offers commercial insurance for businesses, home and auto cover for high-net-worth individuals, accident and health insurance, and reinsurance products. It also runs life insurance operations in Asia. Alongside underwriting, the investment portfolio that puts collected premiums to work forms part of the income mix, so the company's results are sensitive both to claims experience and to moves in financial markets.
When following Chubb stock, claims from natural disasters, pricing trends for premiums and interest rate levels are taken into account. On the CB page at Lzzo.com the price is shown in US dollars, and a historical price chart and technical indicators are available on the same page.
