Brenntag SE

Brenntag SE is a chemicals and ingredients distribution company headquartered in Essen, Germany. Its shares were listed in 2010 and began trading on the Xetra platform in Frankfurt under the ticker BNR. Since September 2021 the company has been a member of the DAX 40 index. Brenntag acts as an intermediary between chemical producers and the industrial customers that use these products.

It stores, blends and repackages chemicals bought in bulk from producers and delivers them to customers in smaller lots. Operations run in two divisions. The Essentials division distributes widely used products such as solvents, acids and base chemicals. The Specialties division offers specialty ingredients and additives for sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, paints and coatings, water treatment and energy. Distribution is carried out together with a warehouse network and technical support services, and customers include thousands of small and mid-sized industrial businesses.
