Biotrend Cevre ve Enerji Yatirimlari A.S. is an environmental and renewable energy company founded in 2017 as an affiliate of Doganlar Holding. It is headquartered in Beykoz, Istanbul, and its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker BIOEN.

The company's business model is built on turning municipal solid waste from an environmental burden into energy. Sanitary landfill operation, mechanical sorting, refuse-derived fuel preparation, leachate treatment, and composting and biomethanation facilities make up the integrated waste management side. On the energy side, it has power plants generating electricity from landfill gas and biomass facilities based on fermentation, gasification and incineration technologies. Waste heat recovery, greenhouse operations, and the generation and sale of carbon certificates are also among its activities. Its facilities are spread across provinces in different regions of Turkey.

For waste-to-energy companies, investors follow incentive periods under YEKDEM (Turkey's renewable energy support mechanism), the duration of contracts with municipalities, trends in the volume of waste processed, plant availability and prices in the voluntary carbon market.
