Amgen Inc. is a US biotechnology company based in Thousand Oaks, California. Its shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker AMGN. The company has a long history in biologic medicines produced using living cells.
Its product portfolio spans a wide range of therapies: the cholesterol-lowering drug Repatha, Prolia and Evenity for bone health, Enbrel for inflammatory diseases, Tezspire for asthma and Blincyto for leukemia are some of them. The acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics, completed in 2023, brought the company rare disease medicines such as Tepezza for thyroid eye disease and Krystexxa, used to treat gout.
