What is Alphabet xStock (GOOGLx)?
Alphabet xStock (GOOGLx) is a token linked to the Class A shares of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of businesses such as Google, YouTube and Android, which trade on Nasdaq under the ticker GOOGL. Alphabet also has ventures in areas such as life sciences and autonomous vehicles. The token's issuer is Backed Assets (JE) Limited, and the tokenization service provider is Backed Finance AG.
GOOGLx is, in the issuer's words, a freely transferable tracker certificate; the voting right attached to the Class A share does not pass to the token holder, and the legal relationship is with the issuer rather than the company. A person holding the token therefore bears issuer, custodian and smart contract risk in addition to the price risk of the underlying share. The product is not sold to US persons; Backed's list of prohibited and restricted countries and the rules of intermediary platforms determine who can access it. The token is available on the Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Mantle and TON networks.
The GOOGLx price on Lzzo.com, for the product matched to its Ethereum contract address, comes from the USD pair on Kraken; if that is not possible, it comes from the USDT pair on Bybit converted into dollars at Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate, or from a Jupiter (Solana) pool with sufficient liquidity. Token trades made while the underlying share is closed can deviate from GOOGL's last price.
