Data Network

Data Network is the new identity of a layer-one blockchain formerly known as Story, which was built around programmable intellectual property (IP) registration. In 2026 the project rebranded as the DATA Foundation, the network was renamed Data Network, and the previous IP token was migrated one-to-one to the DATA token. This transition is why the technical identifier on CoinGecko still reflects the old name.

The new focus is the collection, processing and verification of real-world data used to train AI models. The foundation has announced an on-chain registry for training data called Trace and has integrated with a data marketplace where users share their own data on an opt-in basis. According to the project, the reluctance of traditional content owners to embrace licensing tokenization was among the reasons for this strategic shift. DATA is the network's native token.

Because of the rebranding, the asset may still appear under the Story or IP name on some platforms. The Data Network price on Lzzo.com is based on DefiLlama's US dollar reference data.
