RE

RE is the governance token of the Re protocol, which directs on-chain capital into real-world reinsurance activity. Re allocates funds from pools in which users deposit stablecoins to collateralized reinsurance contracts through licensed insurers; yields come from insurance premiums and on-chain sources. DefiLlama tracks the protocol in its real-world assets (RWA) category and shows deployments on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum and Avalanche.

The protocol's user-facing products are yield-bearing dollar-based tokens called reUSD, the senior tranche, and reUSDe, the mezzanine tranche. Unlike these products, RE is not a deposit token; it is designed for participation in decisions about the protocol's future. According to the project documentation, the plan is for RE holders to vote through an on-chain governance portal on matters such as protocol upgrades, technical permissions, reporting standards and committees. In its CoinGecko listing, RE is listed on Ethereum.
