MAG7.ssi

MAG7.ssi is a spot index token issued under SoSoValue's SSI protocol. The MAG7 in its name refers to a basket of seven crypto assets that stand out by total value. The token is issued on the Base network and aims to provide exposure to the entire basket through a single token.

In the index, assets are initially equal-weighted; this method keeps the basket from concentrating solely on Bitcoin and Ethereum and gives other large projects a meaningful share as well. The basket's composition and weights are rebalanced monthly, and a buffer is applied to limit transaction costs. The token is created with smart contracts so that it tracks changes in the value of the underlying spot assets in the basket. The GoPlus analysis on CoinGecko, however, notes that the contract contains external function calls and may carry related technical risks.

The price of MAG7.ssi reflects the combined performance of the assets in the basket; price movements of the basket components, Bitcoin and Ethereum above all, rebalancing decisions and any price gaps that may form between the token and the underlying basket are therefore decisive.
