Product information
What is BitTorrent (BTT)?
BitTorrent (BTT) is the token used in the blockchain ecosystem of the BitTorrent brand, known for its peer-to-peer file-sharing protocol. Issued after BitTorrent joined the TRON ecosystem, BTT originated on the TRON network; it was later restructured and gained a multi-chain structure together with BitTorrent Chain (BTTC).
BitTorrent Chain is a proof-of-stake-based, EVM-compatible chain designed to connect networks such as TRON, Ethereum and BNB Chain; transaction fees on this network are paid in BTT. Other services in the ecosystem also give the token utility: BitTorrent Speed lets users offer BTT to other peers for faster downloads, while the BitTorrent File System (BTFS) is a decentralized file system that connects users renting storage space with those providing it via BTT.
The BTT price is sensitive to factors such as actual usage of BitTorrent clients and BTFS, developments in the TRON ecosystem, the size of the token supply and general risk perception in the crypto market. The BitTorrent page on Lzzo.com shows DefiLlama's US dollar reference price; the chart is drawn from historical data taken from the same source.
