Beam

Beam is an ecosystem focused on blockchain gaming that aims to let game developers use infrastructure such as player wallets, NFT marketplaces and token economies under a single roof. The project emerged from the transformation of Merit Circle DAO, known for gaming investments and community governance; the community voted to migrate the former MC token to BEAM.

At the centre of the ecosystem is the EVM-compatible Beam network, built with Avalanche technology. Transaction fees on this network are paid in BEAM, so the token serves as fuel for games' on-chain transactions. BEAM also exists on Ethereum and is used in community votes on the ecosystem treasury and protocol decisions. The ecosystem also offers tools such as wallet apps for players and marketplaces where in-game assets are bought and sold.
