CBOT Oats

Product information
What is CBOT Oats (ZO)?
Oats are a grain used in human food as rolled oats and breakfast products, and in livestock farming especially as horse feed. They grow well in cool, humid climates; Canada, Russia, Australia and Northern European countries are among the main production regions.
The oats futures contract trades on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and is quoted in cents per bushel. Compared with the wheat and corn contracts, trading volume and open interest are quite limited, so the price can at times show sharp and irregular moves. Harvest expectations and weather in Canada can be decisive for the contract price.
The value shown on Lzzo.com is based on front-month oats contract (ZO=F) data obtained via Yahoo Finance and is presented after conversion into US dollars. The futures price does not represent the price of oat products sold in supermarkets or of local feed markets; other grain prices and feed demand are assessed together with oats.
