What is Wells Fargo & Company (WFC)?
Wells Fargo & Company is a San Francisco-based US banking and financial services group whose shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker WFC. The bank serves individuals, small businesses and companies through its branch network across the US and its digital channels.
Its operations are reported in four segments: Consumer Banking and Lending, which includes deposits, credit cards, and mortgage and auto loans; Commercial Banking, which provides lending and cash management to mid-sized companies; Corporate and Investment Banking, which offers investment banking, commercial real estate finance and markets services to large companies and institutions; and Wealth and Investment Management for affluent clients. The asset cap imposed in 2018 following the account-opening scandals was lifted by the Federal Reserve in 2025.
