Société Générale S.A. is a French banking group headquartered in Paris, and was founded in 1864. Its shares trade on Euronext Paris under the ticker GLE. It is a constituent of CAC 40, the main index of the Paris stock market.

The group works in retail banking, private banking and insurance in France, global banking and investor solutions, and international retail banking and financial services. Its corporate and investment banking arm provides equity and debt instruments, derivatives, capital markets and commodity finance services.
