QUALCOMM Incorporated is a US semiconductor and wireless technology company based in San Diego, California. Its shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker QCOM. The company does not own its own fabs and has its chips produced by contract manufacturers.
Its business model has two pillars. The chip unit, called QCT, includes Snapdragon processors and modems for smartphones, automotive platforms for in-vehicle infotainment and driver-assistance systems, personal computer processors and Internet of Things chips. The licensing unit, called QTL, licenses its broad portfolio of patents related to mobile communication standards to device makers. The company has recently also entered the data center processor field.
