Strategy Inc

The company long known as MicroStrategy Incorporated has had the legal name Strategy Inc since August 2025. The US-based company's common shares continue to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker MSTR.

Strategy today carries two different identities at once. On one side is a long-established software business that offers business intelligence, reporting and data analytics software to corporate customers; these products are being moved to cloud and subscription models. On the other side, the company positions itself as a bitcoin treasury company: it holds a large amount of bitcoin on its balance sheet and finances this accumulation through capital markets instruments such as common share sales, issues of preferred shares with different features and convertible bonds.

Because of this structure, MSTR stock is highly sensitive to the bitcoin price; investors also watch the effect of new share issues on existing shareholders' stakes, preferred share and debt obligations, how accounting rules feed through to the valuation of bitcoin, and whether the company's value stands at a premium or a discount to its bitcoin holdings.
