What is Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (CBOE)?
Cboe Global Markets, Inc. is a US exchange and market infrastructure company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Its roots go back to the Chicago Board Options Exchange, founded in 1973 as the first listed options exchange. Its shares trade under the ticker CBOE on the Cboe BZX Exchange, one of the company's own exchanges, and are included in S&P's broad-based US stock index.
Cboe operates options, equities, futures and foreign exchange markets. Options trading is the company's main source of income; options tied to the S&P index and other indices are among them. Cboe also calculates the widely watched VIX index, which measures market volatility, and offers products linked to it. Besides the United States, it has equity trading platforms in Europe and other regions. Market data and index licensing services are additional sources of income.
