Bayer AG is a German life sciences company active in healthcare and agriculture. Its shares trade on Xetra in Frankfurt under the ticker BAYN.
The group consists of three divisions. The Crop Science division offers seeds, bred plant traits, crop protection products such as herbicides, fungicides and insecticides, and digital farming solutions; most of this division took shape through the acquisition of the US seed company Monsanto. The Pharmaceuticals division develops prescription drugs in areas such as cardiology, oncology, women's health and eye diseases. The Consumer Health division sells over-the-counter products such as painkillers, allergy medicines, skin care products and dietary supplements through pharmacies and stores.
